Visualizations
of the Teledesic Network
The unique advantages of Teledesics Internet-in-the-Skytmsatellite
constellation are sometimes easiest to express with images. The video
clips below provide several different perspectives of the Teledesic Network
and demonstrate how the satellites seamlessly transfer data from one corner
of the world to another.
View the satellite system from a global perspective, or follow the coverage
of just a few satellites. Watch data pass through Teledesics optical
inter-satellite links, or see a close-up of an individual satellite.
Each animation is available in several formats and file sizes. If you
dont have the software necessary to view AVI or QuickTime files,
click on the external links at the bottom of the page to download the
free software.
Teledesic Constellation
The Teledesic Network will consist of 288 operational satellites,
divided into 12 planes with 24 satellites each. As the satellites
orbit north-to-south and south-to-north, the Earth rotates beneath
them.

Optical Inter-Satellite Links
Optical links allow each satellite in the constellation to communicate
with its neighbors. Through these inter-satellite links, data can
be sent anywhere in the world.

High Quality of Service
Multiple satellites overhead ensure a high look angle, excellent
redundancy and a strong reliable system which all add up
to high quality of service. This animation shows the extensive coverage
over Europe as a satellite communicates to a user on the ground.
